Thinking about bringing Elskan or another wonderful Senior Springer into your family? Read why rescuing Senior Springers is a top priority for ESRA.

This is our sweet and gentle Elskan. She came to ESRA when her family situation changed due to medical and financial circumstances.

The wonderful thing about Elskan is that she always seems contented. She's not too Velcro; she's happy simply to be in the same room with her people. But of course she does enjoy snuggling with them as well, either on a bed or on the furniture.

Elskan is on medication for her thyroid and arthritis, and she will likely need these meds for the rest of her life. Her foster family is working to help Elskan to lose some weight, as she can be winded when coming in from outside.

Outside, Elskan will wander off if she is not watched. She should be monitored when she is off leash as she likes to graze and enjoy the yard. However, she will come when she's called. Exercise should be kept to a minimum as Elskan has a limp from an old injury, and she struggles with stairs.

This contented girl exhibits no anxiety when her foster parents leave for the work day. She does not bark. She is great when she is left alone and does fine with free rein in the house. Elskan is also an excellent car rider. She would be a great dog to take to work if that was an option for someone.

Pretty Elskan has lots of life left to live and love to give. She is ready to find her new Forever Family and help them to be contented, too!

Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.

Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Elskan.
