Hubbard has done really well the past few weeks. This week, we moved her crate out of her room and into the living room enclosed by an ex-pen. Initially she wasn't very happy with this arrangement, but it has helped her come out of her shell and she now roams the house. When she needs some alone time, if she doesn't go into her crate, then she goes to her room and lies in a dog bed and stays there while I'm in the room. This is a HUGE move toward trust for her! Also, even though she still does not want to come in the back door by herself, she will come up on the deck when I call her, although she paces a bit until she's ready to be brought in. She has a ways to go as she still shies away from us, but she is doing so much better than even a few weeks ago. But - drum roll please - we feel that Hubbard is ready for her forever home! One where she will have someone who is very patient and happy to watch her progress into the beautiful Cairn girl that is just waiting to burst out.
