My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SHELBY is a 7 month old spayed yellow female Lab who weighs 35 pounds. She is a lab wannabee who is all lab in personality. She loves to be with you and enjoys playing out in the yard. She likes to play with toys and will bring them back most of the time. She learns quickly and is treat motivated so should be easy to train. She is a small pup but just the right size for a lap dog. Think she will be between 45 - 50 lbs. when she has finished growing. Kids 5 and up lived with a 3 yr old, Shelby is very active and good with other dogs, has been out with several at the kennel. Good with cats lived with one. Knows sit and sort of knows down. Will have a Training Addendum as she is a young dog that needs more training. She is learning to walk on lead as she hasn't been on one much. Good with Easy Walk Harness. House and crate trained, has run of the house when home is crated to keep her out of trouble when they leave. She has been crated for 8 hours with a noon break and does fine. she is an active puppy who needs exercise, play time and training as most pups do. Shelby comes from the suburbs and has no exposure to big cities. Placements is limited to single family stand-alone homes in a suburban neighborhood, or rural area. Shelby is approved for kids ages 5+.

Update; Shelby is a very sweet pup. She is very good with the kids, loves her cuddles, is really quite relaxed in the house so long as she gets her "constitutionals" (i.e. long morning, noon, and evening walks), though she needs leash work and gets very excited when she sees squirrels and birds and other dogs (in short, a typical puppy). She is house trained and crate trained - no accidents. She is a typical curious puppy, and though she hasn't attempted to chew on shoes or furniture, kids should pick up their toys as she's not sure which are hers and which are theirs. She is good with food, and doesn't beg or jump on the countertops to investigate what you're cooking. Shelby is going to be a perfect little girl for a family looking for an active, curious puppy!
