Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is Roosevelt, or Rosy as his foster family calls him. We know, Rosy is a girly name, but he has a rosy personality so it sorta fits him. Roosevelt is an approximately 9 year old neutered male Pointer mix that is looking for a home of his very own.
We don't know much about his history but he was surrendered and was very thin and had a huge hematoma on his ear that they had tried to drain on their own. This caused scar tissue on his ear so he has a massive lumpy scar on one ear. He is a picky eater and was living in a kennel which he doesn't like, and that is why he was so skinny. Rosy was checked out by the vet and is a healthy guy for his age. He is heartworm free, has been dewormed, has been vaccinated, has been microchipped and has been neutered. He is all set!!
Roosevelt LOOOVES car rides! He will try and push through the door leading into the garage when his foster owners open it so that he can get into the car, he just wants to go!! He also loves time in the house and really would love a house all his own, or with an easy going male or female dog that sorta left him alone. He plays with other dogs in the foster home at times, but he doesn't like to be bothered when he is resting and will growl or bark at them when they approach him while he is on his bed or in his crate. He just wants an easy calm home to live his life. Roosevelt is good on leash but he does pull quite a bit and will need a front clip harness or some training with treats to get him in check, or a strong person that doesn't mind a dog that pulls.
Roosevelt lives in a home with children and been good with them but likes to lick them alot. We tested him with a very sedentary kitty and he was ok. He sometimes likes to chase the ball, other times he just wants to chew on it. Roosevelt is very loving and sits on the back patio with his foster owner as she strokes his lumpy ear and just watches the world go by. He is NOT good off leash and will not hang out in a front yard while you are gardening or washing your car! In the back yard he does not to dig out, but sometimes digs for the fun of it. He doesn't jump fences but does "test" gates and doors to see if they are latched.
Who wants to give this old guy a chance at a loving home the rest of his years. Pointers usually live between 12-15 years. Roosevelt's adoption fee is $50 plus a $10.99 microchip registration fee.
