My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gave is a tri-colored girl who came to BHRG from middle Georgia. Gave is a sweet and very loving petite lady who is active and healthy. She is very shy and timid at first until she gets to know and trust you but that won't take long in a loving home. She's a young 8-year-old houndette who adores her foster family and gets along great with her foster family's pack of 3 dogs and 1 cat. This little lady, only 34 lbs, loves to snuggle and so badly wants a family of her own. She is crate trained and stays in her crate at night but has full access to the house during the day with the rest of her housemates. She's about 90% house broken with the occasional slip-up, but she is working hard on learning to let us know when she has to go "potty outside". She's not food aggressive but will let the other hounds know to back off when they try to eat her kibble or her bully sticks. However, she does allow her foster humans to take her bones and food away from her without any problems. She can get a bit possessive when it comes to getting attention and treats and can get grouchy with the other dogs if she is bum-rushed when getting loved on. But she is learning to listen to our commands and is making great strides to correct this behavior. She prefers not to be snuck up on as it makes her nervous so it might be best for her to be in a home without young children. But she LOVES her 13 YO foster human and loves when she sits on the couch with her to snuggle. Gave is GREAT on the lead and loves to go for walks. She will great you at the door at the end of a long day with love and affection and will patiently wait for you to spend some quality time with her. She has exhibited no separation anxiety and does well when left along during the day. I guarantee you will fall in love with this sweet girl, all she needs is a chance and a safe and loving home to be herself. Please consider adopting Gave, she is ready and waiting for her forever home.
