Triny was found wondering in the Trinity river bottoms in Fort Worth by a good Samaritan that brought her to us. Physically, Triny was in very good health, heartworm negative and very pregnant, she had skin issues associated with ticks and she was covered with them and looked she was tick infested for quite a while which makes us think she was always kept outside by a back yard puppy mill breeder. Triny arrived at the kennel late in the afternoon and overnight she gave birth to 9 puppies. Once she had her pups, Triny became a very protective mother, she would only let the kennel girl that received her handle her or her pups; she became aggressive to everyone else. Once the puppies were weaned and separated from her she became a wonderful doggie to everyone here at the kennel.
Triny has so many great qualities that her care takers here at the kennel adore. She gets along well with other dogs, walks well on leash, she is a lady in a familiar house setting, she is house and crate trained, knows how to sit and stay, has a decent recall and has boundless energy. But this young girl also has some challenges ahead. She is devoted to the persons with whom Triny develops a relationship but fearful and unsure with others, she lounges at strangers when approached, Triny is also sensitive to touch from anyone other than people she knows, she is never bitten anyone but we fell she will if strangers approach her. Properly introduced she will accept touch, the way we found that works to introduce her to new people is to have Triny approach the person, to let Triny sniff and smell the person a few times and once she is comfortable with them she can be touched. It may take a few tries over several days, we always do this with a muzzle for everyone’s protection.
Moving on from a terrible ordeal can be one of the hardest things in the world, and sometimes all we need to get through it is someone who truly understands. Clearly, this special girl needs to find just the right adopters that want to take the time to come to the kennel where she lives, get properly introduced, develop a relationship before adopting her and continue to help Triny learn how safe the world really is. With people Triny knows, she loves to cuddle and give wet kisses, just loves to be with her humans, she is so friendly you just want to hug and kiss her. Being young, Triny is full of energy and will do better having a doggie companion to burn energy with, but being a high energy furry person who needs a lot of exercise, but she will do well with someone active who likes to play, hike, run and then go home and snuggle.
Come met Triny and you can see just how loving she can be with whom she knows. With love, training and care, Triny will claim the mature confidence of a well-rounded dog. Triny is in perfect health, she is current in all her vaccinations, heartworm negative and microchipped. If you like to give her a forever home call Miguel at 817-798-8416
