My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I’m MAX, a 10-year-old, neutered male, black Chow Chow. My previous owners had to move out of State and could not take me with them, so I’m currently being fostered by the nice people from Black Dog Walk.
I am a typical Chow Chow; an independent spirit that can be described as being catlike. I am a shy fellow that takes a little bit to warm up to new people, but once I do I love for my person or people to rub my ears every couple of hours! Although I am very loyal to my immediate family, I am not a much of a cuddle companion, but rather a quiet, attentive companion that needs a brushing a couple times a week to keep me looking my best. I love to sit outside and watch the world go by and I also like one walk a day, but only for about a mile and I am VERY good when on a leash. I also like going for car rides. It is highly recommended that I go to a home with either adults and/or children in their teens. I am a little afraid of younger children. I get along very well with cats and am okay with most other dogs. I am also a little afraid of the dark so if you have a room where you could leave me a little light during the night time I will sleep a lot better and be ready to wag my tail at you in the morning.
