My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kip was turned into a shelter, by his owners, because as far as they were concerned he was "broken." ..if you ask me, despite what he has been through, this amazing guy is anything but broken! He had a broken femur as well as a broken tibia, leaving the vet no choice but to amputate his right, rear leg, after he had been kicked by horse. Kip is full of love, life, energy, spirit & joy! This little black & white terrier mix is a complete bundle of joy! He gets along great with other dogs, children &.. well, pretty much anybody he has ever met! If you have a hand to pet him with, he will be your best bud! He loves his chew treats, squeaky toys & tearing around in the yard with "the boys!" (His other foster brothers.. One, a 70 lb Lab/Dane mix, the other, a 25 lb terrier mix.. That being said, Kip does not know his size, nor does he discriminate!) Kip loves to go for leash walks around the block, and believe me, the fact that he only has three legs does not slow him down a single bit.. He can keep up on a two mile walk and loves every second of it! He is extremely well-mannered on a leash, unless, of course, he sees an interesting squirrel or something of the like that catches his attention.. He is, after all, a terrier! Kip loves his dog beds and makes it a point to snuggle up in one any chance he gets! He is a smart boy.. Completely house broken, knows how to use a doggy door & is crate trained. He will willingly go into his crate for a treat. He is only about a year old, that being said, he does have some "puppy-like" tendencies.. Such as chewing things and/or dragging things outside that are not his.. But we have been working on this and I feel as though these are behaviors that can easily be corrected. If you have a place in your home & your heart for this amazingly sweet boy, I can guarantee you, he will not disappoint! Kip is fostered in Huntsville, AL.
