Bea is a female Shih Tzu/Maltese mix approximately 1 1/2 years old. She is quite small, weighing only 8 pounds full grown. Bea is very feminine and beautiful with a soft, buff colored wavy coat that is non-shedding. She is quite the sensitive baby and does best in a protective, quiet, peaceful environment being pampered and cared for. She has very few demands and can be content for hours with a toy or a tasty chew. Above all else, Bea enjoys being inside where she is safe and secure. She will go outside with her human on leash, but is still quite fearful of the big wide world. We are not sure what Bea has been forced to experience in her previous life but she seems to want to bond to one or two special people that she can learn to trust unconditionally. Bea was rescued from a very high volume/high kill shelter in a horrible state of neglect that was borderline criminal. Her gorgeous coat was so matted that she could barely walk. Due to this type of cruelty, Bea is understandably nervous around people she doesn't know and afraid of the world in general. She has slowly been learning in our rescue that life can be enjoyable and people can be loving friends. Bea gets along great with other little dogs her size and might enjoy having another well-adjusted doggie friend in the household to show her the way. We would not recommend Bea for children because she will be way too scared. Bea is a sweetheart and deserves so much better. She will be your loyal, trusty, grateful friend for life. Bea is young, healthy and ready for her new forever home and future today!
Bea’s adoption donation is $425 (*TAX DEDUCTABLE). She has been SPAYED, MICROCHIPPED, VACCINATED, DEWORMED, DEFLEAED and PROFESSIONALLY GROOMED. Also included is her collar with ID, harness, leash, folder with all of her records, a great PETCO coupon book, and a fun goodie bag with toys, etc.
