Coco's Story...
AVAILABLE 06-06-16 At 11 months old Coco is still pretty much a puppy, She loves to play and can entertain herself with a tennis ball or toy for quite awhile. Coco is not only a cutie, she a quick learner - a volunteer had her sitting and shaking for a treat in a short time. (She might be left"handed" as she gives her left paw to "shake".) Coco's vaccinations are now up to date and she tested negative for heart worms. Coco has now been spayed and microchipped. Come to the Shelter and take Coco for a walk, play with her in our Get Aquainted room. She would love the attention.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Coco, a Elizabeth City Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Elizabeth City, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Elizabeth City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elizabeth City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elizabeth City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elizabeth City paves the way for another one to be saved.
