Crixius's Story...
Meet Crixius, this little boy had a rough start in life. He and his brothers were abandoned and needed to be trapped before before being brought into foster care. Crixius was very scared and very timid when he first arrived and a lot of time was spent on his self esteem and confident. He has transitioned from a frantic, timid puppy that would cry and scream if you tried to touch him. To a happy, loving teenager that will follow us anywhere.

Crixius is a quiet, well behaved puppy that enjoys going for family walks, spending time outdoors during family activities and relaxing on his dog bed with his toys. He loves other dogs and gets along well with the cats in the family. He is good with older children but would not be a good choice for a family with younger children (under 5). He is still nervous in new situations and would do best in a household with another dog that could teach him the ropes and provide moral support for him in new situations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Crixius, a Saskatoon Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Saskatoon, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Saskatoon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Saskatoon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Saskatoon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Saskatoon paves the way for another one to be saved.
