Blackie's Story...
Meet Blackie! She has the cutest mustache making her even more adorable! Blackie was born approximately on April 17th and rescued near a mill in Waxhaw on June 7th. Blackie and her brothers and sisters had to fend for themselves until a wonderful foster rescued them! They have all turned out to be beautiful kittens. Blackie weighs 3lbs and is approximately 13 weeks old. She is friendly, good with people and dogs. The adoption fee is $25 and that includes spay, rabies, distemper, dewormer, and microchip. Blackie has already had her first round of shots and dewormer. When she hits 4lbs she will be spayed. Please fill out an adoption application for Blackie at www.hs-uc.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Blackie, a Monroe Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Monroe, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Monroe.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Monroe already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Monroe breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Monroe paves the way for another one to be saved.
