While I love the "pure" pyrs their mixes are equally beautiful and in some cases even more stunning and in this case it rings true. Shira is a Great Pyrenees/German Shepherd mix and she is absolutely GORGEOUS! Her coat is coming in nicely now that she is getting good nutrition and I believe the length will be smack down between a German Shepherd and Pyr. She may be on the smaller side at around 70lbs but I have never met a sweeter and more loving dog but don't take my word for it, just ask Shira herself!

Wow, if someone told me 6 months ago I would be here talking to you I would have told them they are crazy. I gave up hope of ever having a home again after my last owners abandoned me. That hit me hard and after that I tried to stay clear of humans but one day I met a very handsome Pyr and we fell in love and I was soon expecting. Then, humans once again stole what I loved most in this world. They took my love away from me, the father to my unborn pups. They shot him down and for no good reason, I wanted to go to him but a bullet had also hit me but luckily it had only grazed me. Later one, I met a lady who took me in and I began to let my guard down and had my puppies. We were with her for about 4 weeks and then once again I was betrayed and dumped in a small shelter with my puppies. A rescue then stepped up for us and we went to a foster home, after being burned so many times I was caught in a huge dilemma. I wanted to trust them but was worried I would be hurt again but as the weeks went by and I saw happy my puppies were I began to trust again and got more and more exctied to see my foster.

Once my puppies were old enough they started taking me inside with them and it was amazing. They gave me treats and lots of lovings, I even get to sleep on my fosters bed at night when I want too! Now, my puppies have all been adopted and I am now a full time inside girl and I LOVE it! I am still startled by loud noises or fast movements but learn every day that no one is going to hurt me again...no one is going to abandon me. I LOVE to climb on the couch with you and cuddle, I have the Pyr paw down very well and am not afraid to use it ;) I am housebroken, and great with other dogs. I also love kids and will give them a bunch of kisses and ignore cats. I am a super sweet girl and will go wherever you go, whether its for a walk around town or a hiking trip as long as I am with you I am happy! The thing with me is once I trust you I will be YOUR girl, I am as loyal as they come so being burned by people so many times just about killed me...literally. I want to love though, I want a loving family who will love me as much as I love them. I want a family who is looking for a to sweet to be true girl who only wishes to love and be loved on. If you are that family then please put in an app to adopt me at http://www.txpyrs.org/TGPRescue/Public/AppServlet?COMMAND=HOME
