Archie - ADOPTION PENDING's Story...
BRING ON THOSE SQUEAKY TOYS!

Four-year old Archie is a 71-pound Aussie mix who is highly motivated by play with
squeaky and bone-shaped toys.

Archie was taken in as a stray when his owner passed away, and has adapted well to life at the POOCH kennels. He's good with big dogs, but will chase little ones. He's not yet been tested with cats.

Due to his size and chasing instincts, we think his next home should be a family of adults, possibly with older children.

UPDATE FROM ARCHIE: "I have passed my CGC and would like to be in my new home by Thanksgiving!"

Want to learn more about Archie? Please call the kennel at (503) 981-2570 to schedule a visit.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Archie - ADOPTION PENDING, a Woodburn Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Woodburn, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Woodburn.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Woodburn already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Woodburn breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Woodburn paves the way for another one to be saved.
