Picture this scene:
College students in a group outside a building on a campus in Stockton. A little dog comes limping over and hangs out with them until they have to go inside for classes. Three hours later the students emerge from the building and the little dog is still there, waiting for them. He has nowhere to go.
One of the students took him to a local shelter but couldn't bear to leave him there. Instead she filed a found dog report and called mom in Castro Valley - who is now fostering the little dog for Dusty Paws. First order of business, after naming him Tucker, was to check out that limp. It appeared to the vet Tucker had been struck by a car and had a pelvic injury. That meant 6 weeks of being kept as quiet as possible.
At last, Tucker is healed with just a slight limp left. He is ready to find a permanent home. His foster mom calls Tucker a "Velcro Pup" as he loves being close to you and likes to be the center of your attention. He is an affectionate cuddler who loves everyone. He has a mellow temperament, is good getting a bath and is very well behaved at the vet. He is also crate trained and house trained, and can be left alone in the house.
Tucker is currently in a home with an energetic large dog and another chihuahua, both female. He is playful and a little feisty - probably an alpha male. He seems to be ok with cats.
