My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maggie: 10 month old spayed female black Lab 60 lbs

What Maggie says:

So there I was in the country, living with two other Labs outside, not much to do, not much attention from my owners, not sure what my future was. Turned out I was supposed to be part of a breeding operation to make money for my owners. But one day a Lab Rescue hero showed up at our place, and the next thing I knew I was in a car with my two Lab friends heading north. It was so exciting, I had to bark a lot to show how fun it was! Then we arrived at this cool boarding place, we got to play outside sometimes and meet lots of people (they told me I was beautiful, of course). I wanted more - playtime, meeting people - so I did bark to get their attention.

Now I am in a foster home with three other Labs - so much fun - and lots and lots of toys to play with. And kids! Wow! My life is so much better. They tell me someone wonderful looking for a terrific girl like me will find me soon, and adopt me! My good life is just beginning.

What Maggie's boarding place had to say:

Maggie is a very sweet, active young Lab who loves playing with toys, and carrying things around in her mouth. She craves attention (didn't have much in her previous life) and will bark to get it. She is good with other dogs.

What Maggie's Rescue Rep says:

Maggie is a delightful (and yes, beautiful) AKC registered young Lab who is exuberant and playful. She craves attention from people, but needs to learn to curb her demand barking for attention. She will benefit from some leadership, structure, and routine in a new home. Since she has had little or no training in the past, but is smart and eager to learn, a training class with her new family would be a great bonding opportunity. She loves other dogs, and will play for hours with toys. This eager young gal is ready to give her heart to her new family.

Maggie is spayed, microchipped, up to date on shots, Heartworm negative, and very healthy.

She is located in Concord.

If you think you can provide the commitment to training and give Maggie a home where she will thrive (toys are required), please email Rescue Rep Liz at liz@jobshopsf.com.

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
