Massey Purrgason's Story...
This is Massey Purrgason. So, named as it was under a Massey Ferguson lawn tractor that he was eventually captured. He is only about 7-8 weeks old but he is a survivor! I also think his eyes are going to stay that amazing shade of blue! He was lost with no mama around and crying his fool head off when he was rescued from under the tractor. He has been at the shelter a couple of weeks now, growing, wrestling and playing with his adopted brother Naranja! He has now graduated to the big kitten haven and is holding his own in there! His adoption fee is 90.00, he will be up to date on his shots, neutered and micro chip before his adoption is finalized.

You can visit me during open hours, which are Monday through Friday from 9am-3pm and Saturdays from 10am-1pm or email to make an appointment for another time. Please see our website at for adoption fees and other information!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Massey Purrgason, a Grinnell Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Grinnell, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Grinnell.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grinnell already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grinnell breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grinnell paves the way for another one to be saved.
