Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bellevue is an extremely shy girl, about 1 1/2 years old. She and her B group friends belonged to a woman who unfortunately had dementia, and didn't manage to care for the cats very well; Bellevue is frightened of everything new (people, places, things - you name it, if it's new, it scares her) and spends most of her time hiding in boxes and kitty cups and hidey-holes.
Due to their shy nature, the kitties in this room don't get as much attention from visitors as the more outgoing cats. Normally, cats this shy, though not at all wild or aggressive, we'd consider placing as barn kitties. The coloring on this group, however, is the wilderness equivalent of a big neon "EAT ME" sign, so an outdoor-only life for them would likely be woefully short, and would not give them the opportunity to blossom and become, maybe not NORMAL, but at least HAPPY cats that have a life worth living. While all these cats were used to going in and out of their former home (through a window that was left open), if you want your new friend(s) to stick around, you will want to keep them strictly inside for at least a couple of months, until they are totally comfortable with you and their new home environment.
These cats are perfect examples of what rescuing a pet really means; if you can open your home and heart to a pair or threesome, we'd love to see Bellevue go with one of the more brave girls (Brooklyn or Brier), and possibly a second super-shy kitty (Beaux or Benton). Bellevue and the other super shy kitties will mostly keep to themselves for quite a while... they all have great litterbox habits and are quiet and easy care kitties. We don't recommend them for homes with toddlers or particularly noisy, boisterous children, but older children that can understand and empathize with a shy kitty should do just fine with them.

All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Bellevue is suggested minimum $20 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you!
