Facts about Einstein

  • Breed: Chihuahua/Dachshund Mix
  • Color: White
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Male
Like Albert Einstein, our Einstein has droopy puppy dog eyes. Clearly the mark of a genius. This little Chiweenie fireplug is super sweet, a little shy, and his eyes make him a total heart stealer as does his gentle personality. Don't be fooled, this 11lb. 6.5 month old boy can be just as crazy and spunky as the rest of the pack! Einstein's parents, Mama and Gustavo, lost their home when their human went into hospice and members of the family weren't willing to take them in. Both were on their way to a high kill shelter until one of our amazing foster families reached out to us and together we were able to rescue them. Only a couple weeks later, Einstein and his siblings were born. Four of Einstein's siblings - Nova, Darwin, Newton, and Vega - have been adopted, but he and his brother, Atom, are still looking for their forever homes. They have not only been incredibly loved ever since, but they have been extremely well socialized and introduced to kiddos, other dogs, cats, and lots of visitors. Einstein is neutered, up to date vaccines, microchipped and ready for his forever home. If you are interested in staring into Einstein's sweet eyes every day, please fill out an application at omdrescue.org

About One More Dog Rescue (formerly RSHT)

About Our Rescue Group...

One More Dog Rescue, formerly Ruff Start Happy Tails, believes that animals deserve our love, compassion, and respect. Our purpose is to rescue dogs and to provide care for orphaned, stray, and abused dogs. Through rehabilitation, socialization, and adoption, we strive to provide a humane service to all dogs that come into our rescue. Additionally, we provide awareness about the prevention of animal abuse and neglect as well as spay/neuter programs and their important effect on the dog overpopulation crisis.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are a Connecticut-based 501c3 dog rescue that will adopt to approved applicants in the surrounding areas.
We do not have a facility - All of our rescue dogs are in loving foster homes.

Our Adoption Process...

One More Dog Rescue (OMD), formerly Ruff Start Happy Tails, requires all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application and agree to a home visit prior to any adoption. Once the application is approved, a meet and greet will be scheduled between the potential adopter (s) and the dog. If the dog is adopted through One More Dog, an adoption contract must be signed, and we ask that a donation in the amount of $350.00 be made at the time of adoption to help our rescue cover a portion of the costs we incur through pull fees, vetting, and training.
