Simba's Story...
Meet Simba!! Someone witnessed Simba being thrown from a car in the city of Poughkeepsie. He was abandoned on the streets and picked up by a kind police officer. He is now looking for his second chance at life. He has beautiful eyes that will just melt your heart. He is a good boy who loves his toys, and his favorite game is tug of war! He thinks he is a lot stronger than he actually is (but shhhhh don't tell him that). Simba is house broken and seems to be playful with other dogs, but it is unknown how he is with cats. He knows how to sit but will need additionally training with his basic commands. Please come visit Simba and/or submit an application!!

Act quickly to adopt Simba. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Simba, a Poughkeepsie Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Poughkeepsie, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Poughkeepsie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Poughkeepsie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Poughkeepsie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Poughkeepsie paves the way for another one to be saved.
