My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Fizzgig, the friendliest monster kitty!

Fizzgig is an amazingly affectionate, exhuberant, and snuggly girl. She loves nothing more than to be in the presence of people - rolling around to be close to them, laying on or near them, and purring for hours. Fizzy likes to stretch herself up your entire leg just to remind you she's waiting for your attention and love. When she's not smothering you in her affection, she enjoys watching the birdies from the window, chasing feather wands, and soaking up some rays in the sun. You have may have noticed that her face looks a little different... Fizzgig is a special girl, you see. As a kitten, she was adopted from Animal Care and Control in Philadelphia. Months later, her previous owners called to have Animal Control pick up the cat, who had "gotten out and came back like this." Because of the severity of her injuries, she needed to leave ACCT immediately - and we couldn't leave that beautiful girl in the shelter.

Fizzgig received thorough medical with us, including receiving care for gastrointestinal issues, gaining 3 lbs, assessment and x-rays of her broken limb, tooth removal, and facial reconstruction surgery. There is nothing that can be done to reconstruct the portion of her nose which was sheared off (suspected by the fan belt in a car), but the tissues have granulated in wonderfully and she has had no signs of infection or ability to perform daily functions. Fizzgig will require no special care, aside from monitoring her for discharge or inflammation, which would require antibiotics to stop an upper respiratory infection in it's early stages.

Fizzgig is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, uses her litter box, enjoys dry and wet food, and has done well in her meets with cats. Her foster family feels she would do well with slow introductions to a cat-friendly dog, and she has reacted positively to children. Interested in adopting Fizzgig?
