Well, ain't he cuter than the spots on a puppy's back!! Well-he is quite adorable with all of his little freckles. Opie cam all the way from Mississippi to find his forever family, and they will be sooooo lucky to have this happy boy in their home. Opie is just 5-6 months old and already housebroken, how about that!? He came to us do to some weakness in his hips, but with a good diet and tons of activity he has really gained some strength and muscle tone. He can run with the big dogs now, he may be prone to arthritis as he ages but he is doing fantastic. Opie is an active boy, loves to play, is great with everyone and LOVES the water, he has tried to jump into our pool a couple of times by himself and does enjoy swimming. We cannot be sure of his breeds, it is a guess, whatever he is we think he is adorable!! Opie's adoption fee is $125,. and he will come with plenty of goodies!! Please email Kristine at

About Eye on the Sparrow

About Our Rescue Group...

All of our pets are in foster homes, from Sheridan to North Aurora, IL. We take in many special needs dogs, some physically, mentally or behaviorally challenged. Some of them have been abused or neglected, many are seniors, most just need some understanding and patience. A lot of them have never heard a vacuum before or even felt a kind pat on their heads. Fostering them prepares them for the life they so richly deserve when a kind person adopts from us. When you adopt a shelter dog, you are making a giant step in reducing euthanasia for all these great dogs looking for a home. It is not their fault, it is the fault of the human that previously was involved in their life. Thanks for checking out our website, maybe you will find the pal of your dreams.

We periodically have adoption events, check out our website for more info!

Our Adoption Process...

We have an online application on our website, Requirements vary as per the individual dog's needs as far as time alone, children, other pets, fenced yard vs. leash walking and such. Our adoption donations can range from $99 for less adoptable/older dogs, and higher for puppies and other highly sought after dogs(which helps us take in needy often medically challenged dogs and cats.)
Our contract states we have the right to visit the dog, check up periodically as well as take the dog back if necessary. We get first right to the dog if adopter chooses not to keep him. We want all adopters to realize this is a serious commitment and want our dogs to go to safe, loving homes.
