If you are looking for a very devoted companion, I am your new best friend. A delightful mix of Chihuahua and Italian Greyhound, I attach myself like a barnacle to my favorite human and hang on their every word and action. I am just 6 years old and have been living with my current owners since I was adopted from a shelter .

I live in Kirkland, Washington. I am tiny at just 7 pounds, but I have a huge heart and give so much love to my favorite person.

My owners love me a lot, but their home just is not suitable for my personality. I am one-person dog, and need a quiet, predictable environment in order to feel calm, safe and happy. My current home includes small children and a lot of commotion. It makes me feel like I need to be on guard all the time.

I was adopted from a local shelter. Likely the reason that I ended up in the shelter is because I was in the wrong time of home in the first place. Small lap dogs like me are not children’s playthings. We are better with adults in an adults-only home. I get along just fine with other pets, as long as they are good with me.

In the right home with just one person, or a couple, I will be SUCH a happy little guy. I love to spend most of my time snuggled up in a cute little ball on your lap. I am great in the car, too, and would be happy to accompany you to appointments or on shopping trips.

My personality is very typical of both the Chihuahua and Italian Greyhound breeds. I’m not good with children – at all. They scare me, and it makes me feel like I need to growl at them to protect myself. With my favorite human, I am so sweet, gentle and loving. All I need is the right home and I will thrive.

I am very healthy, have been neutered and am up to date on my shots. Please offer me a place in your home and heart, and a nice, warm spot on your lap. I am one of those dogs that will surely leave tiny paw prints on your heart.

Please offer me the loving home that I need and deserve. I can’t wait to wiggle my way into your heart.

Love, Sammy

About Seattle Find My Pet A Home

About Our Rescue Group...

In many locations throughout the USA and Canada, shelters are rescues are filled to capacity, leaving pet owners who can no longer care for their pet with nowhere to turn. Many pets are needlessly being euthanized.

Being placed in a shelter is a very stressful experience for all pets - and their owners. We offer a very good alternative, allowing pets to stay in the loving care of their owners while a new home is located for them.

We have helped many pet owners in need to place their pet in a home where they have great peace of mind in knowing that their pet is being cherished, well cared for and kept safe, happy and healthy.

Come Meet Our Pets...

In most instances, our pets stay with their owners until a new home can be located. There are some situations which require a more urgent placement, and in these instances, we look for loving foster homes to care for these pets until a permanent home can be located.

Our Adoption Process...

When a pet is placed with our organization, our staff create a very honest and compelling adoption story about the pet, using the information provided to us.

We then spread the word about this pet's need for a new home through a wide variety of online services, and through local outreach.

Interested parties are directed to fill out a formal request to meet a pet, providing in-depth information about themselves.

Before a potential adopter is introduced to a pet, we do careful reference screening and a criminal records check.

Should the pet's owner and the adoptive party agree to an adoption, a formal agreement is entered into, requiring the new owner to agree to keep in touch, ensure the pet's physical and emotional well-being, and provide a safe, happy and healthy home.

They are required to agree that they will not surrender the pet to a shelter or give away the pet - but rather they are to contact our organization so that we can find another suitable home, in the event that they are unable to fulfill their commitment.

The owners deliver the pet to the new owners, so that they can do a home inspection prior to leaving the pet in the new owner's care.

Our organization provides follow-up services, contacting the new owners after the first week, and then every 45 days for the first nine months post-adoption. This helps ensure the pet is being well cared for, and that the new owners have any support they need in adjusting to life with their new companion,
