SUGAR's Story...
SUGAR is a fun loving & happy boy that came to our county shelter after first his Mom, then Dad, passed away. He absolutely LOVES water, and we have video of him having so much fun while playing in it on our FB page.

He is 3 years old, already neutered and UTD on his shots. Sugar was the only furbaby in his home, so he has not been properly socialized with other dogs. Sugar is a volunteer favorite at he shelter, and we want to see him go to another loving, forever family.

If you are interested in Sugar, please contact us immediately at 252-325-3647. He is currently the longest resident at our county shelter, which is very small and located in rural NC and we are now at capacity.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

SUGAR, a Powellsville Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Powellsville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Powellsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Powellsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Powellsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Powellsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
