Dixie's Story...
Oh, I wish I was with DIXIE! Hooray! Hooray! She’s 6 adorable pounds of sweet Southern Belle who pretends to be a little shy… for all of 5 seconds! Then she will settle into your lap and turn those big, beautiful, golden eyes up to meet yours - and you’ll wish you were with DIXIE forever! Only 4 years old, this once terrified gal is now ready to dance her way into your heart. Curious, smart and funny, DIXIE blends into any pack with ease and is house, crate and leash-trained. In DIXIE’s land, there are good times are just waiting to happen!

DIXIE is an adoptable Chihuahua in Central Texas through Ay Chihuahua Rescue. For further information, visit www.aychihuahuarescue.org/adopt. For more pictures of DIXIE, visit www.aychihuahuarescue.org/available-dogs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dixie, a AUSTIN Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in AUSTIN, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in AUSTIN.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in AUSTIN already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a AUSTIN breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in AUSTIN paves the way for another one to be saved.
