Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Located Near Tampa
Emma
female
Age young, less than 2 yrs old
SOON AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
Emma came to the rescue from Clay County Animal Control. She was a stray that had been found by a local resident who wanted to keep her, but the estimated costs of her veterinary needs was beyond the means of the resident, so Emma was turned over to Animal Control.
Emma is a petite female Rottweiler who weighs 57 pounds. She is approximately 12-18 months old. When she was found she had severe infections in both eyes resulting in thick, crusty rings around her eyes. She has a patch of missing hair on her back between her shoulder blades that is thought to have been caused by a chemical burn (perhaps from over application of a topical flea/tick product, but the vet is not sure of the exact cause). She was very skinny and had some loss of her coat in several areas.
Emma's temperament is great. She is a playful little puppy with a lot of energy that is crate trained and appears to be house broken as well (she's had a few accidents at her foster's house). She is good with adults and children. She has not been fully tested with other dogs yet but she appears to be good with dogs her size. She has not been tested with cats. She is not food or toy aggressive/possessive and takes treats very gently. She walks fairly well on lead but has a tendency to pull. She knows the Sit command and her foster dad is working on teaching her more.
Emma still has some vetting that needs to be done so she is NOT YET AVAILABLE for adoption. Check back here frequently for updates on Emma's progress and availability. This sweet girl is a foster-favorite and will make a wonderful dog for a loving family.
