Cleo's Story...
Cleo, short for Cleopatra, is a loveable seven-year-old pitbull. She is good with cats and kids, but due to her traumatic past as a breeding dog, she must be the only dog in the house. After months spent with loving volunteers, she is getting the hang of what life as a pet can be--she loves cuddling, playing, walking on leash, and will give as many kisses as you let her give. Cleo recently had knee surgery, and needs an owner who understands that she requires a regimen of easy and frequent exercise to keep her strong and healthy. Cleo's adoption fee is $150, and a home visit and references, including a vet, are required.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cleo, a Dunkirk Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Dunkirk, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Dunkirk.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Dunkirk already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Dunkirk breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Dunkirk paves the way for another one to be saved.
