Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I know….I know….cuteness overload! My foster momma tells me how cute I am SO many times a day, but it never gets old. You see, my old home never told me that. Instead I was smacked in the face with a fly swat any time I opened my mouth or they walked by. I was also tethered outside for an hour at a time in this horrible heat. Whew! I’m glad that’s over. Now, instead of hitting my face my foster momma rubs my face and ears to let me know I’m loved and I won’t be hit anymore. Even tho life was a bit rocky for a while, I am still a happy girl. Gracie….that’s my name by the way and I’m a 5 yeat old, 10 pound girl. My foster mom says I have an awful lot to say….I tell her when I want something and I alert her of any strangers….but when she talks to me I listen intently, even turning my head from side to side…..then I answer her. Daily I am reminded that I don’t have to be afraid anymore, but it can be a hard feeling to shake. Sometimes when I’m not sure I will try to hide a bit or stand back from everyone. That will just take a little time. Otherwise, I am a typical yorkie….sweet, nosey, eager to please, ready to go at all times, sleep with 1 eye open so I miss nothing and full of attitude. You can see it when I walk. My house manners are pretty good, but I do have an occasional accident if I don’t get let out timely. It would better if my forever home did not have small kids because when I play, I play ruff and might hurt them by mistake. Also, little ones seem to like to pick dogs up and I am not a huge fan of that…..another thing I have to learn that’s ok. A new family that would love me and treat me special is what I dream of at night, so if you think I sound like your girl, please come meet me. Gracie is up to date on all shots, heart worm negative, on heart worm preventative, microchiped, de-wormed, had a dental and spayed. Gracy’s adoption fee is $300.00. WE DO NOT ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS. Out of state adopters are responsible for arranging transport, WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS. For events calendar and adoption application please go to our website at aaprescue.org
