Gator's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Gator's Story...
Gator is a handsome 13 pound, 4 year old piebald boy looking for love!

Gator loves belly rubs and he is quite a snuggler. Gator gets along well with dogs and older respectful children. Gator sleeps in his crate every night in his foster home in Georgia. Gator loves to go for walks and does very well on a leash. He does have a high pretty drive and will try and chase squirrels and even cars so he requires a securely fenced yard. Gator would not do well in a home with cats.

Gator is well house trained, but like all dachshunds, needs to be encouraged to go outside to potty on a regular basis. Like all dachshunds he will need to be confident in his environment to have good potty habits. All rescue dogs go thru a period of adjustment so understanding and patience is important.

Gator came into rescue with a very sore back (IVDD) and has had therapy and rehab and is doing very well now.

Gator loves to burrow and likes plenty of blankets to snuggle into in his crate and in a bed. A true snuggler, Gator would love a home where he could have lots of individual attention.

This handsome young boy is looking for love! Are you going to be the one to make his dreams come true?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gator, a Green Cove Springs Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Green Cove Springs, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Green Cove Springs.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Green Cove Springs already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Green Cove Springs breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Green Cove Springs paves the way for another one to be saved.
