Pokey's Story...
Pokey - 5 year old female Miniature Schnauzer mix. Our best guess at her breed is Schnauzer/Maltese or possibly Schnauzer/ ShihTzu. Pokey along with her sister Pebbles (their ages are a guess, they could also be mother/daughter we aren't sure which but they do appear to be related) were dropped off at the shelter after their owner passed away and no family members could step up to taking them. Both girls are on the shy side but warm up quickly given a little time and chicken! We had a dental done on both of them. Because of their shy/skittish nature we believe they would do best in a home without smaller children. The girls are very bonded and we'd love to place them together if we can. Pokey is the smaller of the pair at about 8 pounds.

Our adoptions are restricted to residences of the greater Los Angeles, CA area. We do not ship animals nor do we do any type of long distance adoptions. The best way to contact us about one of our dogs is via email at We request that people if possible first fill out an application before coming down to our adoption fair. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pokey, a Redondo Beach Schnauzer (Miniature)/Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Miniature)/Maltese for sale in Redondo Beach, or seeking a Schnauzer (Miniature)/Maltese dog from a breeder in Redondo Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Redondo Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Redondo Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Miniature)/Maltese breeders who help with Schnauzer (Miniature)/Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Redondo Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
