Pretty Kitty's Story...
Kitty Pretty is a 5 year old cat who came to us after her owner died. She grieved so intensely for her owner that she gave up on life and would not eat or drink. It was all we could do to keep her alive, but now she has pulled out of it and is a happy, sleek and loving girl. All she needs now is someone to give her the dedication that she gave her other owner and is willing to give again. She is a gentle kitty, not high energy or high maintenance. She tries her best to learn what you expect of her and complies. She likes to be held and sometimes will talk to you. She is vet tested negative for felv and fiv and her teeth were cleaned less than a year ago. If you are interested in adopting, please go to our website at and fill out the application located at the bottom of the page and email it to NOTE: Mixed breed selection doesn't necessarily mean the animal is a cross between two choices, although the mother may have been a cross between the two selected. It also may be is a choice of possible phenotypes generated for the ease of a person's search and does not necessarily represent the animal's genetics.
Out-of-state adoption fees may vary. We do not ship animals. Adopters must come to get their animal and accompany it back home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pretty Kitty, a Dallas American Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Dallas, or seeking a American Shorthair cat from a breeder in Dallas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Dallas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Dallas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Dallas paves the way for another one to be saved.
