Patches's Story...
Patches is a 6 year old mini-Daschund. Patch is very shy when meeting new people or dogs. When he warms up though, he wants to stay close. His favorite pass time is sitting on his person's lap and napping. He would do best in a home without small children - they move too quickly for him. Patches is not fond of car rides or exploring the back yard, but he'll go out if you go with him :) Patches needs someone home at least part of the day to let him outside and keep him company. His former owner pee pad trained him, but he is best getting outside to do his business. Patches would love a family to call his own, and has been patiently waiting.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Patches, a St. Charles Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in St. Charles, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in St. Charles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Charles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Charles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Charles paves the way for another one to be saved.
