Melvin (...is in Somerville)'s Story...
I'd like you all to meet Melvin. Melvin is a super sweet and super friendly cat.
Melvin is approx. 2 years old and he was found as a stray in Dorchester. When Melvin was picked up, he was brought in to be neutered and to have all of his vaccinations updated. When they realized just how super sweet and friendly he was, they immediately looked for a rescue who could help find this super sweet boy a loving forever home.

Melvin is a love and will do well in a home with another friendly cat, aIf cat friendly dog and children of all ages. Melvin is neutered and up to date with all of his vaccinations.

Melvin is FIV+....all this means is that Melvin has a slow immune system. If you are not familiar with feline FIV, please Google THE TRUTH ABOUT FELINE FIV. You will find this information very helpful and very enlightening.

If you are interested in meeting Melvin, please visit our website www.happytailspetrescue.org and fill out our adoption application. Once this is done, Cindy will contact you to arrange a Melvin meet and greet.

Thank you for stopping by. Melvin and I hope to meet you soon.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Melvin (...is in Somerville), a Somerville Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Somerville, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Somerville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Somerville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Somerville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Somerville paves the way for another one to be saved.
