Look at this handsome Husky! Fiji is a sweet, active guy who just needs a family to complete him. He only gets along with some dogs his size (no small animals) so a meet-and-greet is in order to see if your pets make his list of friends.

Fiji is 7 years young, which is about middle-age for a typical Husky lifespan. He weighs 44 lbs. but could do to put on some weight.

Fiji is healthy but has a case of heartworms which we'll see him through. Heartworms aren't contagious, you and other animals will not contract heartworms from him. They're curable when caught early and show no outward symptoms except in advanced cases (coughing). Heartworms are caused by mosquitoes and are all too common here in the south but are completely preventable with an inexpensive monthly pill. Fiji is taking a monthly pill (which we will pay for) until a blood test (which we'll also pay for) shows he's rid of them. This could take 6 months to over a year. We've had many happy adopters who've rescued a heartworm-positive dog. Speak to your vet if you need more feedback.

** $85 reduced adoption fees are offered for dogs 6 years and up to encourage people to consider mature pets! **

About Homeless Pets Foundation

About Our Rescue Group...

The Homeless Pets Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1998 by Dr. Michael Good, an Atlanta veterinarian who saw a need to create an organization that could assist animal shelters and pet owners in need. In the Atlanta area alone, there are more than 100,000 animals destroyed each year for lack of a home. The Foundation provides critical medical care, food, foster care and comfort to these homeless animals.
