Brawn AND brains is what you get with this highly intelligent boy with the handsome, well-muscled physique. Calm, sweet, mild-mannered, and thoughtful, Ike is a genuinely sincere and sensitive guy who’s going to bond deeply with his family members and be exceedingly loyal to them. Neither fawning, nor demanding, Ike needs a confident, strong leader with a firm---but never harsh--- approach and willing to guide him and set necessary limits.
Upon intake to the shelter, Ike presented with several burns on his head, the cause of which is unknown. Treated for the burns as well as an ear infection and Giardia by Monroe SPCA, Ike is ready to move on to a happier and healthier life, with a loving, loyal family who can provide him the structure he needs through fair and consistent house rules. Attentive, quick to learn, and eager to please, Ike would enjoy and excel in obedience.
While active and lively outdoors, Ike doesn’t have a lot of stamina and requires only modest amounts of daily physical exercise after which he’ll be content to just hang out with his family. A more faithful, loyal canine family member you will not find!
Ike is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a low-active to moderately-active lifestyle. As with all dogs, we recommend a meet-n-greet with any housemate dogs prior to adoption. Direct interaction with cats is unknown and cannot be assessed at the shelter at this time.
Ike is a Monroe SPCA adoptable dog who currently resides at Monroe County Animal Control located at 911 S. Raisinville Rd, Monroe, MI (just south of the fairgrounds).
