Mr. T's Story...
Mr. T (or Tuffie, as we call him) was extremely sick when he came to us. He had a GIGANTIC bot fly larvae in his neck (We have pictures - it was as big as his head.) Due to it's size and location (his neck/throat), the critter nearly killed him. Tuffie had been up and running around, before the larva got him. As he was healing, he was so weak he couldn't even suckle. Today, he is doing incredibly well. He's up and walking, meowing, gaining weight, and exploring the world. We are taking adoption applications for him, but he cannot leave until he is 8 weeks old (8/19/16). We expect him to fully recover, but his forever family should know he's a little behind the ball in his physical maturity, because he was sick for so long.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mr. T, a Saint Clair Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Saint Clair, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Saint Clair.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Saint Clair already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Saint Clair breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Saint Clair paves the way for another one to be saved.
