Look at that adorably kissable face – cutie patootie meters off the charts indeed! Crosby is not only a sweetly captivating, one-of-a-kind, compact canine looker, but he also has the delightfully endearing personality to match. Part playful, funny-guy, ready to entertain you with his comedic ways and somewhat oafish-like playful antics; and part sensitive, serious-minded canine, attentively and deeply devoted to his people, he is also an all-around, happy-to-be-around, extremely loving, zesty and robust, vibrantly full-of-life, completely charming little character.

Always well-intentioned and sincere, but sometimes a little frisky with a puppy-like rambunctiousness, Crosby thrives with structure and routine – established rules and boundaries to which all family members consistently adhere too. A dog who if he senses he is stronger-minded than his owner, may not take him or her seriously. Crosby simply needs a responsible, caring owner who sets him up for success from the get-go by providing him with the confident leadership and faithful companionship he needs and deserves for the rest of his life.

Affectionate, intelligent, attentive, and quick to please when he knows what is expected of him, Crosby is a faithfully devoted young dog who craves human companionship and close contact, and he revels in praise for accomplishment. Lively, animated, gently playful, and ever-curious, he will need regular physical activity and mental stimulation to stay happy, healthy, and well-behaved. A dog who enjoys learning new things and being challenged, Crosby will appreciate training and socialization opportunities, and he’ll benefit from and excel in obedience. This will also be an excellent way to bond with him and meet some of his exercise needs as well as to reinforce good canine manners.

Crosby is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a calm, low-active to moderately-active lifestyle. As with all dogs, a meet-n-greet with any housemate dogs will be necessary to determine compatibility prior to adoption. Direct interaction with cats is unknown and cannot be fully assessed at the shelter at this time.

Come meet Crosby at Monroe County Animal Control located at 911 S. Raisinville Rd, Monroe, MI (just south of the fairgrounds). Kennel hours are Tuesday - Friday, 11:00 am - 3:30 pm; Saturday, 11:00 am - 2:30 pm; closed Sunday, Monday, and National Holidays.

Monroe SPCA also offers microchips for dogs and cats adopted from Monroe County Animal Control for a fee of $15.00 at the time of adoption. Microchips are implanted between the dog’s shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. Microchips are registered to Monroe SPCA with adopters adding “new owner” information after adoption. If the dog is ever lost and slips his or her collar and tags, the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact when the dog is scanned for a microchip.

Even if you cannot adopt at this time, please consider making a donation to Monroe SPCA so we may continue saving, protecting, and improving the lives of homeless animals in Monroe County.

In addition to providing emergency medical treatment to animals who need it, Monroe SPCA, now, provides every dog at Monroe County Animal Control with basic preventative health care which includes flea preventative, deworming(s), DHPP vaccine and booster, and Heartworm Testing.
