Jane's Angels!! Sheryl Silver, Sari Nieto, Margaret Lewis, Crystal Davis and Rhonda & Wayne Nelson. SCMR thanks you so very much for your support and so does Jane....
There is quite a story regarding this baby!!
Jane Seymour is a sweet little girl who came to us from a lady in Douglasville, GA who found her wandering the streets. She has been through so much in the short time she has been with SCMR! First of all she was very pregnant as is evident in her photos! 2 days after coming to SCMR she went into labor and could not deliver...too weak and the puppies were big. She had to have an emergency c-section and out popped 4 big puppies! Poor Jane was too weak from malnutrition to nurse and she had no milk anyway. So she spent the night at the vet's getting fluids and resting. And the puppies are being bottle fed by hand. Unfortunately Jane did not take to her puppies.
Jane has a locked jaw and can only eat by poking her tongue out on the left side and lapping up whatever she can get. We took her to have her jaw examined to see if she could benefit from surgery. The diagnosis is devastating. Jane is only about a year old. She has craniomandibular osteopathy which is a juvenile disease that presents around 4 or 5 months after birth. The bone just grows wild around the jaw and has locked her jaw shut. And the really bad news is nothing can be done...there is no treatment, not even at a university. This girl has been through sooooo much...we are determined to do whatever it takes to make her life better. Her foster mom is liquefying her food so she can get some nutrition. As long as it's soupy, she can lap it up. She is also getting Antirobe to help reduce bacteria on her teeth. After the puppies were born, she weighed 7.8 pounds. One week later she is up to 8.5 which is very encouraging! She is starved for more than just food. She soaks up love and attention and has much to give. Such a sweet baby. Won't anyone take a chance on Jane? We don't know how long she can make it with this condition but while she's here, she has a heart full of love to give. She could also use 'angels' to sponsor her. And your sponsor donation is tax deductible.
She is currently being fostered in Chattanooga, TN.
