This is Ray AKA Sanka our BCAS foster dog!
Ray is very handsome young man who is about 1 year old and weighs in at a lean 40 pounds now. He is housebroken, knows some basic commands like 'no', 'sit', and is learning 'leave it' and 'come'. Ray loves to be around his people and his fellow dog friends. He truly enjoys the company of other dogs and tolerates cats inside. When meeting new people Ray can be a little shy but warms up with petting, praise and treats! He might take a little while to get to know you but once he does he is a rambunctious and loving youngster! Ray loves Nyla bones and tennis balls. But most of all he loves to be with his people and prefers to just hang out with his family. Ray will thrive in a home that will allow him to be a house dog, surrounded by people who are patient and will use positive reinforcement to help him continue to grow into a great companion.

Act quickly to adopt Ray. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

About Brown County Animal Shelter/Brown County Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

We are a small rural shelter that works very hard to find homes or rescues for our dogs. We have a 97% save rate at our shelter which we are very pleased about. Our staff and volunteers work very hard for our dogs. We are always looking for volunteers to help us clean kennels, walk dogs, and just spend some time with the dogs. Donations are very important for our shelter, as we operate on donations.
We have some of the best dogs in Ohio and would love for them to find a new furever home with you!

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are located at 100 Veterans Blvd Georgetown, Ohio 45121
Our hours are Monday-Friday 1000am-500pm Saturday 1000am-300pm Sunday- Closed
We have periodic adoption events that are announced on our FaceBook page.

Our Adoption Process...

There is an initial adoption application, then there is a contract and a paper for vet care. The dogs will be spay/neutered before going home with their family. The dogs will go to a vet and will need to be picked up by the adopter. The adopter can elect to have more services provided.
