Here's what the humans have to say about me:
"Loba" is a beautiful, 1½-yo female solid black GSD with a wonderful all-around temperament--so typical of black GSDs. Loba is friendly and outgoing with people, including young children. (She has done well with kids as young as 4 yrs old.) She is very affectionate and likes to cuddle. Loba is loyal and bonds strongly with her people.
Loba is great w/ other dogs, including little dogs (she lives with two Chihuahuas)
and is a regular at the dog park. She got along famously with several of the dogs at
GSRSV's rescue ranch when I evaluated her.
Loba chases after cats, so I will only consider a home without cats for her.
Loba is fully housetrained and has no bad habits indoors. She does like to dig when kept outside, though. Loba walks well on leash and is non-reactive towards other dogs. She has good recall when off-leash. Loba likes to go for car rides and rides well in the car.
Loba likes to play fetch and loves to romp and swim in the American River or to splash in the kiddy pool in her backyard.
Loba's owner Ruth adopted her from a friend in August 2015 because her friend's landlord would not allow her to have a GSD. Now, Ruth is facing pressures from her own landlord to scale back to three dogs (Loba's digging in the backyard didn't help matters), and Loba has the least seniority among Ruth's four dogs.
GSRSV has evaluated Loba and is placing her as a "Program Dog." This means that GSRSV is placing Loba through its adoption program while her owners continue to care for her. Loba's adoption fee is $260, which will include her spay surgery at the Sacramento SPCA Spay/Neuter Clinic if she is adopted prior to the surgery.
