Rompin Riley's Story...
Animal's name: Rompin' Riley Age (years): 4 Weight (pounds): 12 Spayed/Neutered: Yes Coat: Smooth Color: Red Adoption fee: 250 Riley was picked up as a stray in Sacramento. After spending three weeks in the shelter he was brought into rescue where he acclimated rather quickly. We think Riley is about 4 years old. Although Riley is shy when he first meets new people, he is becoming more outgoing every day. He is extremely sweet and affectionate and loves to hang out with his people, snuggle, and sunbathe. Riley loves going on walks and for car rides. He gets along very well with the dogs in his foster home, both male and female, and he seems to get his confidence from being around them. Because of this Riley would love to find a home with another dog but would be okay by himself. He is not barker, even when the resident dogs in the home bark. He is working on being house trained and will need a family who will continue his training. Riley will sleep in a crate but like most doxies prefers sleeping in the big bed. Riley has been neutered, micro chipped and vaccinated. We have not tested Riley with cats but he does not seem to have too high of a prey drive (as evidenced by the fact he doesnÂ’t really seem to know why he is chasing squirrels with his foster sister). To meet Riley or see more pics of him, go to drnc.org and find his name under 'available dogs'. You must fill out the application. No one will be considered to adopt without the application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rompin Riley, a Forest Ranch Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Forest Ranch, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Forest Ranch.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forest Ranch already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forest Ranch breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forest Ranch paves the way for another one to be saved.
