Sonny's Story...
YEP! We did it! We got in a Giant Sheltie! Okay, he's a collie! We just couldn't leave him tied to a tree in 90 degree heat and turn our backs. He is now recovering nicely and gaining weight. You see, he weighs in at 57lbs and should probably be 75lbs.

He is shy at first but very sweet. He loves to be petted. As we get to know him better, we will update this site. He is only 2 years old so he will need a fenced yard with room to romp and play! He loves to run and run and play with other dogs. So, he wold be best in a home with a dog that will play with him.

If interested, please apply at! But please understand that we will not place him before we see him gaining weight. We want to make sure he is healthy.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sonny, a COLUMBUS Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie for sale in COLUMBUS, or seeking a Collie dog from a breeder in COLUMBUS.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in COLUMBUS already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a COLUMBUS breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie breeders who help with Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in COLUMBUS paves the way for another one to be saved.
