Marco is an 18 month, 18 pound Dachshund mix! He is playful and affectionate! He's very curious and loves the city life. His hobbies include chasing birds and squirrels, staring longingly at them from the window sill, cuddling while watching TV, and playing fetch. He loves going outside and is very playful. He enjoys playing with his toys and his human. Marco's also the king at receiving belly rubs.

Marco is a great traveler! He willingly jumps in the car and is ready for an adventure. He is also fabulous on the subway. He's fully house trained and loves long walks. He gets along very well with other dogs.

He's currently enjoying the role of office pup where he's beloved by his new co-workers and sneaking in pets and snuggles all day.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Marco, a New York Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in New York, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
