My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Breed: Miniature Pinscher
DOB: August 2014
Sex: Spayed female
Weight: 5 pounds

Meet Zimt, a very happy and silly girl with just a pinch of sass for good measure.
Her favorite things are playing with other dogs her size and taking puppy naps on the deck swing.
When she is not doing those things she loves to follow her foster mom around in hopes of getting some cuddles from her. If her foster mom sits down Zimt is right up in her lap ready for hugs!

The first part of her life was not good. In fact it was awful and she was not treated kindly, possibly because they did not realize she was deaf. Now that she is understood, everything is great and she’s never looked back. She lives each day with gusto! She does so well that her foster mom keeps forgetting that Zimt is deaf. She watches the other dogs for clues as to what is going on and for one thing, has learned to follow them when it’s time to come in the house. She also has learned to keep an on her foster mom so that she can hopefully understand if she needs to do something for her. So she is always with the flow. She’s a super smart girl!

Like a lot of small dogs she is leery of new people but warms up to them if they don’t push themselves on her. She knows what she likes and it is not pushy people! She cannot hear as someone approaches her so she wants to take the time to sniff a hand before letting it touch her. We suspect she has not had a good experience with hands before coming to her foster home.

Because of her small size and her deafness, Zimt is looking for a home without young children. We also require a securely fenced yard or fenced area for her to safely potty and play outside. Zimt would be so happy to find a home that has another little dog she can play with and to help clue her in on what is going on.

If you are looking to add a new member to your family that will brighten your days and make you laugh, this silly little girl is for you.
