My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Do you want a little dog, that makes everyone who sees her stop and smile? Rainey is the dog for you. Rainey has three legs, and she doesn't even know it, and it definitely does not slow her down one bit! She is the happiest girl imaginable. She loves all adults and children, and especially other pets. When she goes to an adoption event, she acts like the official greeter. Rainey can run and jump, and do everything that a dog with four legs can do. She loves to take car rides, and go anywhere you do. On the other hand, she also likes to sit in a chair with her people, and watch television, or snuggle.
Rainey is a 7-8# wire haired mixed pup, less than one year old. She is spayed, up to date on shots, heart worm negative, completely healthy. She will provide her adoptive family many years of joy and companionship.
Don't you want to provide this great little one a loving forever home?
Rainey is an approx 6 mo. old female yorkie/chihuahua mix. She weighs under 10 lbs. She is a sweet girl who came
to us from Dyersburg animal shelter. Her back leg had been injured and heeled very stiff and strait. We think it makes her
high risk for future injury and we will amputate at the time of spay.
Her adoption fee is $200

The ideal home for this Real Good Dog will have a secure fenced yard. A solid history of excellent vet care for current or previous pets is required. Preference will be given to applicants who have specific breed experience.

Please visit www.realgoodrescue.com to submit an electronic application if you are interested in adopting this or any other Real Good Dog.

We adopt dogs from Memphis Animal Shelter when we can. The shelter has an 83% euthanasia rate, one of the highest in the country. Unfortunately, any dog coming from Memphis Animal Shelter, and most other shelters for that matter, will have been in contact with contagious illness. Even though the dogs have been in foster care and appear to be in good health, they may become stressed when changing environments and exhibit signs and symptoms of illness. If you have other pets, they need to be up to date on vaccines before bringing a shelter dog into your home. We will take the adopted animal back, but we are not responsible for your other animal's vet care. We always disclose where the dogs have come from. Please ask for any information about the dogs and exercise due caution if you have immunocompromised animals.
