Oswald's Story...
This handsome devil is Oswald. His wonderful sandy colour, big puffy tail, and funny expression turn a lot of heads. When Oswald first arrived at VPAS from another shelter he was terrified of everything and wasn't social at all. He has really blossomed during the time he's been with us and now he's a great little cat. He's still a little wary of fast movements and loud noises (so will not be comfortable in a home with young kids), but if you sit on the floor in front of his kennel he just runs out and curls up on your lap. He loves to get rubs, and although he's a little uncomfortable about being picked up, he enjoys cuddling. Oswald absolutely loves the other cats here at VPAS and needs to go to a home where there is another cat for him to play with. If you think Oswald sounds like the right match for your home please visit him at PetSmart in Langford.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oswald, a Saanichton Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Saanichton, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Saanichton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Saanichton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Saanichton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Saanichton paves the way for another one to be saved.
