Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Grace has lived her life on the streets till she was caught in a trap. She is only about 7 months, so it is easier for them to come around when young. When we first got her she would hide and not come anywhere near you. Since she has been in a foster home around other dogs she has learned to trust her foster mum and will come up and want to be petted and loved on. She loves food and will come to anyone with food, hot dogs are her favourite. She is not the kind of dog that is going to come running to you, but in time she will once she knows you. You will need to be patient and let her learn to trust you. She would do best if there was another dog around as that is what brings a lot of scared dogs around as they will watch how the other dog interacts with you. Our rescue loves to take on dogs like this as it is great to see them blossom. She is a beautiful looking dog with golden eyes. Life on the streets are rough and we are sure she is happy to be in a loving home and a comfy bed. She loves to play with toys and still has that puppy in her and likes to chew so we make sure she has plenty of chew toys around. She is so playful with the other dogs in her foster home, gets very excited to go out and run around. She is going to need a fenced in yard, that is a given. She has not tried at all to get out of the yard where she is at. She is fully vetted and micro chipped. She is about 22lbs and 7 months old. We believe she is a Beagle/Dachshund mix. She has not been aggressive at all, we would prefer her go to a home with older children or a couple looking for another companion for themselves and dog.
We had Grace out yesterday 9/24/16 at a dog festival and she was a bit scared but walked on a leash for the most part and did so well. It is just time for this girl to really come around. She had a young girl come up and want to pet her. She was a bit scared but after the girl touched her she went towards her wanting more. It was so great to see just how she is coming along.
