Meet Mazyoun (aka Rafiki)! Mazyoun was transferred from another shelter to give him a second chance. Being pretty new to lots of things and only a year old, he will take time to adjust and learn about everything at his own pace. He is incredibly sweet with people of all ages and will even roll over for love! While he has had a few doggie friends, he can still be picky about who he is friends with and would prefer a home without cats. Being a large Collie, he would also be a better fit with older kids. He absolutely loves being out and about outside, but will need help understanding how to live the good life with the best manners.

On a recent visit to a staff member's house, he enjoyed wandering around the house to see what everything was. He hoped on the couches without a clue if he was allowed or not, so he will need to be shown boundries in the home. However, he does listen well when you get his attention to get down and he will roll over or lie down if he thinks he's disappointed you. He will sit for treats, but if you take what he thinks is too long, he will either jump up to smell the treat or lie down and roll over to see if those tricks will earn him his treats (so patience will need to be taught as well). Once he settled in, he enjoyed lounging on a big dog bed or right in the middle of the floor. Mazyoun is ready for his forever home and waiting to meet YOU - won't you come say hello?!

We will let you know Mazyoun is available and able to have applications submitted once you've met. For more information, please give us a call at (302) 571-0111 or visit us at our center (701 A Street Wilmington, DE) Tuesday-Friday 12-7pm or Saturday & Sunday 12-5pm.
