Remi's Story...
Hello everyone! My name is Remi the American Bulldog! I am a sweet lady that is about 85 pounds in weight (more of me to love!) and 7 years old. My owner passed away and I ended up at the shelter because there was no where for me to go. Henrico Humane took me in and said that they will find me a lovely home.

To tell you a little about Remi: She loves people!! She has been around cats and ignores them basically. We think she is housebroken because she did live in a home previously, but since she is new to us and is not yet in a foster home we cannot confirm yes or no to whether she is housebroken. One thing we do know is that Remi loves belly rubs and riding in the car. Remi is best suited for a home without small children.

We recommend and encourage you to complete an application at http://henricohumane.org/adopt/application-for-dogs/ before coming to our next adoption event. To find out if I will be attending our next adoption event, please email dogs@henricohumane.org.

Adoption events are every Saturday, excluding holidays, at the Petco located at 11331 W. Broad Street, Glen Allen, VA (next to Trader Joe’s) from 11:00am to 2:00pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Remi, a Richmond American Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Bulldog for sale in Richmond, or seeking a American Bulldog dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Bulldog breeders who help with American Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
