for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Starla's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Starla's Story...
Starla was born April 2005 and is purebred Havanese. She is elderly but she doesn't act or look her age though. She gets along with other dogs, is friendly, affectionate, and loves to go on walks. She wants to be with you and next to you. She was used as a breeder dog. The breeder gave her up when they needed her no longer. She was adopted then they gave her up for unknown reasons. The 3rd home surrendered her to us as they did not have time for her. As a result of this bouncing around, she had anxiety which is now under control. Therefore, she needs a stable home environment.

Stop by and meet our pets on SATURDAYS or if you are not able, email to arrange a convenient time to meet the pet. Adoption events are Saturday from 11 am to 3pm at R and R Pet Lifestyle and Supply at 2780 Tapo Canyon Road, Simi Valley (SE corner of Tapo Canyon and Alamo), except holiday weekends. Please email (staff@arvsimi.org) ahead to make sure a particular pet will be at adoptions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Starla, a Simi Valley Havanese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Havanese for sale in Simi Valley, or seeking a Havanese dog from a breeder in Simi Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Simi Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Simi Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Havanese breeders who help with Havanese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Simi Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
